Absolutely. We won’t be there in the next year, but if we aren’t in the next three to five years, I will have failed. How will you bring Avison Young into the industry’s upper echelons? V I’m not going to be doing the day-today management. I’ll be mentoring brokers, leading by example. I’m here to coach them and help them build up their skills. Maybe certain clients are off-limits to them because of other brokers at their firm. Maybe a junior broker feels like he is being held back by a senior broker. And the clients are always looking for something better. Maybe they want more attention. There are always opportunities for more business. What would draw brokers and clients to Avison Young? But flat in New York City is still more active than anywhere else in the world. If it is quiet, we have more time to get people familiar with Avison Young. EXPERT ADVICE Sharp focus directed at meeting the needs of a prospective employer or client is required for a successful résumé. Erik’s informative résumé displays his extensive experience in visual communications, including the agencies he worked for (11), the industries (10), the clients (40), his expertise (19 areas) and his hobbies (six), but it needs focus and clear purpose to translate his experience into an artful and effective portrayal.
