racey Stewart, 44, may be married to a famous comedian—The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart—but she has her own following as the owner of Moomah, a popular TriBeCa café that customers rallied around when it was forced to close earlier this year because it was “hemorrhaging” money. It has since reopened.
I couldn’t get on top of my labor costs. I had a lot of teachers working who were staffing the art workshops all day.
If Moomah was losing so much money, how could you reopen it?
I have a degree in design and business from Drexel University. I’ve done graphic design,and I designed swimsuits. Then I became a veterinarian technician. I stopped when I had a baby.
Does Moomah take up all your time?

GREG PASS, 40, has been named the founding entrepreneurial officer for CornellNYC Tech, the new tech satellite of the Ivy League university that will be located on Roosevelt Island. The Cornell University alumnus and former chief technology officer of Twitter will engage directly with the tech sector to help shape a curriculum that emphasizes applied innovation and entrepreneurial skills.
