2011 APIC Annual Conference Preview Issue • 3 Abstracts: Translate Science to Solutions D id you know that out of approximately 14,000 APIC members, only 333 members submitted abstracts for the APIC 2011 Annual Conference? The Abstracts Committee accepted 281 poster/oral presentations for this year’s conference in Baltimore, which amounts to an acceptance rate of 84 percent! These infection preventionists are worthy of recognition and deserve your attention. They’ll be standing by their posters on Monday, June 27 from 2-3 pm and Tuesday, June 28 from 1:30-2:30 pm to answer your questions and provide additional information about the work they have accomplished. Poster Determining accuracy of CLABSI data submission for public reporting hospital-acquired infections in New York State from 2007-2009 New York State (NYS) began mandatory reporting of central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) data in 2007 into the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) for the purposes of public reporting.
