of ASH for 19 years. She served
as education program co-chair for
the 2012 ASH Annual Meeting and
has been a program co-chair for
Highlights of ASH in North America, Asia, and Latin America. Dr.
Lee has also served on the editorial board for ASH's journal Blood.
She is currently a member of the
Awards Committee, Small Meetings Oversight Subcommittee, and
Guideline Panel on VTE in Patients
with Cancer.

Dr. Mikhael is a professor of
medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, where he is also deputy director
of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center

and associate dean at Mayo Clinic
School of Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Mikhael's research interests include multiple myeloma/
plasma cell disorders, pharmacoeconomics, and education and
communication skills in medicine.
He has been a member of ASH for
17 years, and has served as education program co-chair for the ASH
Annual Meeting, program co-chair
for Highlights of ASH in North
America, Asia, and Latin America,
and co-director of the ASH Clinical
Research Training Institute (CRTI).
Dr. Mikhael currently serves on the
steering committee of the CRTI program and chairs the ASH Committee on Communications.

Leadership and
Committee Positions

ASH seeks a balanced committee membership
that mixes bright, enthusiastic
people with seasoned members
interested in helping to lead our
Society into the future. The Society encourages members to
self-nominate, or recommend a
colleague for one or more of the
various leadership and committee service roles. Self-nominees
are encouraged, although not required, to solicit the submission
of at least one parallel nomination from a colleague or senior
member for endorsement. This
is especially helpful when a new
or junior member is being introduced into committee service.
The deadline for submitting
nominations for term year 2019
is May 31, 2018. All nominations
submitted after the deadline
will be maintained in the nominations pool for consideration
next year. Submit all nominations online at www.hematology.
org/nominations/.
