The front door should be a statement about the quality of the home. * Entry doors as well as garage doors shall reinforce the overall style of the home. * All doors visible from streets or common areas shall be enhanced with style appropriate architectural details. * Wood, composite fiberglass, metal, and MDF are acceptable entry doors materials. If glazing will enhance the front door and is consistent with the architectural style, then glazing is encouraged. * Door products that enhance energy efficiency is encouraged. * Doors shall always be protected by deep recess or porch elements, providing a transition from outdoors to indoors. * Recessed doors are encouraged where two-story massing occurs. * Window and door frame style, proportion, and colors shall be consistent with each other and shall compliment the elevation style. Screen Doors and Security Gates * Must match the architectural style of the home on elevations facing the street. * Such doors shall be painted or stained an appropriate complimenting color to the main body color of the home or the front door.
