WEEKEND INFORMATION Saturday, January 6 WALT DISNEY WORLD® Half Marathon 5:55 a.m. – Wheelchair Start 6:00 a.m. – Wave A Start 6:10 a.m. – Wave B Start 6:30 a.m. – Wave C Start Start: Epcot® Parking Lot check valuables. The race staff is not responsible for baggage, although every effort will be made to have your baggage waiting for you after the race. To check in your gear bag, detach the tag from your race number, attach to your gear bag, and give it to an attendant at the appropriate claim tent. All gear bags must be checked in before 5:00 a.m. Half Marathon baggage must be claimed before noon on Saturday. Marathon baggage must be claimed before 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Unclaimed baggage will be transferred to Epcot® Group Sales, located between Guest Relations and the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort bus area. Guest Relations will remain open until 9:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. After 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, all unclaimed baggage will be transferred to Central Lost and Found, adjacent to the kennel at the Ticket and Transportation Center. Articles of clothing that are found on the course will be donated to charity. Sunday, January 7 WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon 5:55 a.m. – Wheelchair Start 6:00 a.m. – Runners’ Start Start: Epcot® Parking Lot THE LAST BUS TO THE START DEPARTS AT 4:00 A.M. On both Saturday and Sunday, on-property transportation will begin at 3:00 a.m. from your WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort Hotel with buses marked “Race Start.” Race signage at the entrance of your resort will direct you to the bus load zone. You and your guests may board these buses by showing your resort ID and/or your race number. Buses will transport you back to your WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort after you have reunited with your party at the Family Reunion Area. NEW IN 2007: HALF MARATHON WAVE START A new wave start system has been created to alleviate crowding at the Half Marathon start line. Wave assignments will be listed on your bib number and given during packet pick-up at Disney’s Health and Fitness Expo. There are three waves. Waves are assigned based on your estimated finishing time. Each wave will be directed to walk out to the start area beginning with Wave A, followed by Wave B, and then Wave C. To ensure a smooth walk out and start, please proceed in your assigned wave only. Signs, announcements, and race personnel will direct you to the appropriate start line on race day. GEAR BAG CHECK-IN Please use the plastic bag provided at Race Number Pick-Up for your warm-up clothes.
