STARLING
Starling, a Jacksonville, Fla.-based senior living owner, operator,
and developer, is breaking ground on a 140-unit independent living
community in Ponte Vedra, Fla., next to Starling at Nocatee, a 92-unit
assisted living and memory care community opening this fall. Once
complete, the combined 232-unit campus will offer rentals on more
than 11 lakefront acres located across from a central amenity center
and down the street from Nocatee Town Center.
COMPLETED
The Cardinal at North Hills, an urban continuing care retirement
community in Raleigh, N.C., opened its Healthcare Services Building, which caters to assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing
residents. Memory care and skilled nursing use a household model,
with shared interior and exterior common spaces. The addition allows
Cardinal to offer higher levels of care to residents, as needed.
Atria Senior Living wrapped up renovations at Atria Darien, its
senior living community in Darien, Conn. The $5 million project features
the addition of four resident rooms and the renovation of common
areas. South Coast Improvement Co. (Marion, Mass.) was the general
contractor on the project.
Clarendale of Schererville, a $40 million, 177-residence senior living
community, celebrated its grand opening in Schererville, Ind. The threestory community comprises 85 independent living residences, 38 assisted living residences, and 54 memory care residences. Amenity spaces
include a movie theater, crafts room, bistro, pub and billiards room, club
room and library, living rooms with fireplaces, and wellness center.
The Sheridan at Tyler Creek in Elgin, Ill., opened on a 12-acre campus. Built by Walsh Construction (Chicago), the three-story senior living
community houses 64 assisted living units and 32 memory support units.
Mill Hill Residence, a Maplewood At Mayflower Place community,
opened its doors in West Yarmouth, Mass. The two-story community
houses 75 units for assisted living and memory care residents. The spacious apartments and light-filled common spaces reflect a Cape Cod
style with a warm coastal design. The community features views of the
water, outdoor gardens, courtyards, and a walking trail. Stein Troost Architecture (Norwalk, Conn.) was the architect on the project, Perkins Eastman (Pittsburgh) provided the interior design, and NEI General Contracting (Randolph, Mass.) served as the construction partner. EFA
