FIRST LOOK Heidelberg Village FREY ARCHITEKTEN Heidelberg Village is part of a large sustainable development project in the new urban district, Bahnstadt, on the site of a former freight yard in Heidelberg, Germany. Designed by architecture firm Frey Architekten (Freiburg, Germany), the 162 residential units will range from one- to five-room apartments, with many units designed to accommodate individuals who need skilled nursing care or who have special needs. Plans also include apartments and an enclosed inner courtyard for residents with dementia. In keeping with the complex's sustainable design goals, buildings will be adorned with green vertical gardens and house solar panels for energy production on the roof and building façade. Construction started in 2015 and is expected to be completed in spring. EFA Winter 2017 * EFAmagazine.com 13http://makearteasy.com/ http://www.EFAmagazine.com
