BD'S SCOVIAK TAPPED FOR FOLIO'S
TOP WOMEN IN MEDIA ROSTER
We always knew there was something special about our Mary. And now, that
knowledge has received some impressive validation: Mary Scoviak, Boutique
Design's executive editor and conference director, Hospitality Media Group
LLC (HMG), which operates the brand's Boutique Design New York (BDNY)
and BDwest trade fairs, has been named one of the Folio: Top Women in
Media honorees in the Industry Leaders category. That annual list by the
trade publication covering the magazine business is comprised of the most
influential women in media who are driving the agenda for the industry and
within their companies.
"Mary has been a huge contributor to the growth of our media company,
and continues to raise our brand's bar of excellence," says Michelle Finn, senior
vice president of ST Media Group Intl.'s Boutique Design Group and president
of HMG.
"I'm so honored to receive this award," says Scoviak. "I'm very proud of what
Boutique Design and HMG have achieved over the last few years. But the real
joy for me is getting to work with the amazing team that's made it all happen.
Their support, vision and dedication has blown the lid off what any of us
thought was possible. I can't wait to see what's next."
Scoviak and the other honorees will celebrated at an awards luncheon in
June in New York.

A storied Days Inn on the border of Chicago's Lincoln Park and
Lakeview neighborhoods will soon be reborn as a boutique hotel.
Locally based hotel management company Oxford Hotels & Resorts
LLC has unveiled plans to transform the 1920s building into the 135-key
Hotel Versey, following a revamp by Windy City-based based Chipman
Design Architecture.
Originally named The Diversey Arms, the building was home to jazz
musician Bix Beiderbecke in 1925. In the 1990s and 2000s, the property
became known as the "Rock 'n' Roll Days Inn" thanks to its popularity with
such famed bands and musicians as late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain,
the Goo Goo Dolls, Radiohead, Sheryl Crow and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The lifestyle hotel's new label pays tribute to its original namesake
while tying in the building's V-shaped structure, located on a triangular
city block at the corner of Clark and Broadway streets and Diversey
Parkway. The designers say the property's updated look will reference
its locale, showcasing local art in all public spaces. It will also feature a
street-front restaurant and a series of retail venues.
"The building's prominent location gives us a great opportunity to
serve a diverse range of travelers seeking a more authentic neighborhood
experience," says John Rutledge, founder, president and ceo of Oxford
Hotels & Resorts and its parent company, Oxford Capital Group LLC.
"Today's discerning travelers look to engage with locals and learn about a
city's culture. We're thrilled to be able to deliver a hotel product that will
highlight the building's layered history and surrounding community. We
look forward to welcoming families visiting university students, Cubs

fans, music lovers and all travelers that aim to 'stay as a local.'"
Hotel Versey-which is slated to make its debut late this spring-will be
Oxford's 12th hotel project in the Chicagoland market. The company also has
properties in several other cities, including the Hotel Lexington NYC, The Metropolitan Hotel NYC, The Godfrey Hotel Boston and The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood.
