How are hotels collaborating
with your members to elevate
the guest experience?
David Labuskes:
They're really doing innovative
things with audiovisual (AV)
technolog y to promote
socialization, productivity, and
personalization. It has been
exciting, over the past year
working with Boutique Design,
to meet so many hospitality
designers who approach
technolog y as a creative
material for establishing a
sense of place, or generating
excitement, or activating a
memorable experience. Whether

an event producer, and AV systems
are vital to successful events.

planned for BDNY 2018?

How can hospitality designers
learn more about audiovisual
experiences?

David Labuskes:
We are going to continue what
has become a great tradition in a
short amount of time: gathering
a group of hospitality designers
to share their thoughts and plans
for using audiovisual technology
in hotels. We've done this at BDNY
2017 and BDWest earlier this
year, and we've done it at more
intimate gatherings along the way.
At BDNY 2018, I'll share the stage
with creative professionals from
Gensler, Hirsch Bedner Associates,
HKS, Loews Hotels, Marriott, PSAV,
and W Hotels as they discuss with
each other-and BDNY attendees-
how they're leveraging audiovisual
solutions to redefine the overall
guest experience.
In a separate session, I'll get the
inside scoop on those Sound
Suites that W Hotels is creating.
But more than that, we will
discuss ways of using audiovisual
technology to reinvent public
spaces in hotels. It's a trend that
goes well beyond hospitality and

focused on the business potential
