MMMMM
ccording the to National Ski
Areas Association (NSAA) there were 477
ski resorts operating during the 2012-2013
season in the United States alone. There are
numerous other ski areas throughout the
rest of the world. It is almost impossible to
detect where a photograph was taken when
there is a beautiful action shot with abundant powder flying behind the rider. In fact,
it can sometimes be difficult to detect if the
snowrider is on a pair of skis or a snowboard, unless a ski pole can be located somewhere in the photograph. Focus the camera
to a wider view and little hints can immerge.
How well do you know your resorts?
Many ski resorts are small local resorts
that are popular for easy accessability and
convenience. The larger - especially destination resorts - have to distinguish themselves.
They have developed their own personalities. There is something that makes them
unique. Some are noted for their dependable
snow and corduroy trails. Some are known
for their wonderful cruisers. Others cater
to advanced only snowriders, while still others have excellent learning slopes. Many resorts are attractive for their après ski
activities. And, then there are those that
offer the complete package.
