The Far West Ski Association appreciates the participation of our industry partners in a variety of programs,
including the Silent Auction and Snowsports Trade Show conducted at our Annual Convention. It provides the
opportunity for industry representatives from resorts and travel providers to meet with Convention attendees and

Here Comes A New Ski Season!

Ski season 2019, was an incredibly awesome season. Snow to the rooftops abounded
across the country. This kept the resorts open
through the end of April, and in some areas,
even later than that. Of course, this was all
very good for the many skiers and boarders
who love to get out there for as many turns
as they possibly can in a season.
Whatever amount of snow we get, each
new season brings with it, a chance to escape
to a wonderful new place or to simply revisit
some of our favorite ski resorts. Whether we
go to an international destination such as
Davos, Switzerland, or on an Adventure Trip
to Croatia, or whether we stay in our own favorite California, Oregon, Idaho, Utah ski area,
or one of the many Canadian resorts, we have
fun wherever we go! Some of those FUN
areas that our clubs and councils will be heading to during the 2019 - 2020 ski season will
include Mammoth Mountain, Whitefish Mountain Resort, Steamboat, and Telluride, just to
name a few. And, let's not forget about Big
Sky, who will be our hosts for the Annual Far
West Ski Week, scheduled January 25 - February 1, 2020, and Big White Ski Resort, our
hosts for the Mini Ski Week, March 29
through April 3, 2020. It should be a great
year!
For those of you who are unaware of the
many opportunities that the Far West Ski
Association provides our members, you can
find out about those deals by simply clicking
onto our website - www.fwsa.org - and checking out the extensive list of Member Benefits
that we can partake of as club and council
members. We have several wonderful lodging

partners who offer discounted rates, including
Lakeland Village and Zalanta Resort in South
Lake Tahoe; Shilo Inn, in Bend, Oregon; as
well as The Peaks, in Park City, Utah. We also
have a host of ski shops and services offering
reduced prices on ski rentals and transportation, such as Powder House, with several locations throughout the Lake Tahoe area, and

Far West Ski Association will be celebrating our 90th Anniversary in 2020. The celebration for this anniversary will be tied in
with our 88th Annual Far West Convention,
which will be held at the Red Lion Hotel on
the River - Jantzen Beach, in beautiful Portland, Oregon. We will have a huge agenda
with lots of history of the organization, ski history, and fun stories told by many of our special VIP's.
We especially enjoy hosting YOU each
year at our Annual Convention, and look forward to seeing you in Portland, Oregon next
May 28-31 where we will be "Rollin' On the
River". Won't you please join us for four days
of history, educational seminars, valuable Public Affairs panel discussions, meeting our
