Racers enjoyed firm snow on all the race courses, and many opportunities for individual medals and council awards. This year has been very challenging for skiers and racers alike due to the huge amount of snow we received in California. There was near record snow in both Northern California and Southern California this year. Sierra League, Singles League and Open League were able to complete only six races. Southern California leagues have had some challenges with attendance this year. The Far West Championships were held on March 22 - 24 at Heavenly on the Nevada side at the Stagecoach lift. The slalom was on Saturday, and the Giant Slalom was on Sunday with two runs for all racers on both days. Naturally, we got more snow on Saturday morning, but we were able to push the snow off the course and have a great Slalom race day. Sunday went off smoothly with no new snow and everybody that raced had a great weekend at South Lake Tahoe. The results of the Far West Championships had Open League in first place in points 28 Far West Skier's Guide 2O19 - 2O2O / Visit the Digital Edition at www.fwsa.org.http://www.fwsa.org
