Most ski and snowsports
clubs across the United States are
now year round sports and social
clubs, as well. Central Council of
California is no exception. Central Council represents ski/sport
clubs located in the central California area, extending from the
Sierra to the sea, and from Salinas to Santa Barbara. Most
member clubs offer hikes, bike
rides, campouts, and a variety of
social gatherings in addition to
their very busy ski schedules.
At the council level, Central
Council of California leaves most
of the activity planning to the
clubs. Our council provides information about Far West Ski Association, its member benefits
program and its travel program,
as well as, information about the
National Ski Council Federation,
to the clubs located within our region. Most, but not all, Central
Council of California clubs have
very strong and active travel programs and numerous non-snowsports activities available to their
members. Rather than offer council activities that might compete
with our clubs, we strongly support, not only our club activity
and travel programs, but all of the
Far West Ski Association travel
programs.
There is no way to list them
all, but here is a sampling of what
lies ahead for Central Council of
California, and its member clubs
in the coming year:
n Fresno Ski Club has two
week-long ski trips planned for
2020: Jackson Hole in February
and Mammoth Mountain in
March. Fresno Ski Club generally
has a hike or two in the Yosemite
area each summer/fall, as well.
n In February, 2020, SLO
Skiers will be going to Aspen/
Snowmass, and in March they
are going to Jackson Hole. SLO
Skiers summer activities include
a local monthly hike, a monthly
