Youth Leadership Camp
NBSWR hosted a great
B.E.S.T./OYC Youth Leadership
Camp the weekend of June 2123, 2019 in conjunction with the
state of California Department
of Parks. Executive Board Snowboard Association, SnowBusters
Ski Club of Pasadena, The Rosebud Academy, Loma Linda University Health, Glen Park Healthy
Living, Zeffie Bruce of Fire & Ice
Ski Club, and the Men of Alpha

Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc of Pasadena. This group collaborated to host 35 campers and
chaperones for a weekend of
interpersonal and leadership
skill building. Kudos to Keith
Green, NBSWR Youth Director,
and his team of volunteers, parents, participants, chaperones,
and donors for successfully conducting this third annual youth
outreach event.
 
Coming Up On the
Winter Calendar
Both Four Seasons West Ski
and Snowboard Club and the
Los Angeles area member clubs
of the NBS Western Region will
exhibit this year at Ski Dazzle LA
https://skidazzle.com from December 6-8, 2019 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.  Please
contact skidazzle@nbswr.org to
participate.
  As far as winter plans,
members representing the 51
clubs of the National Brotherhood of Skiers and beyond will
convene at Sun Valley Resort
from February 29-March 7, 2020
for the NBS Black Summit - http://
www.nbs.org. 
  Leading up to the NBS
Black Summit, from January 1620, 2020, the NBSWR will host
Urban Winter-fest 2020 Vision http://www.urbanwinterfest.net
in South Lake Tahoe at Heavenly
Ski Resort with a day at Northstar and a day at Kirkwood;
and ending with a dip in the
Grover State Park Hot Springs.
Urban Winterfest will include a
Mountain Lunch with DJ, daily
apres ski events, a "Casino Royale" theme party, and the Rev. Dr.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Breakfast Program, featuring presentations by Urban
Winterfest 2020 Youth. 
The NBSWR also plans to
bring a contingent to the Far
West Annual Ski Week http://
skiweek.nbswr.org in Big Sky,
Montana from January 26 to February 1, 2020.
  Additionally, NBSWR clubs
will host events in their local
cities as ski/board trips such as
Youth Learn to Ski/Board Better
(SnowBusters Ski Club of Pasadena), Local Youth Development
Trips and a trip to Mammoth
Mountain (Four Seasons West Ski
and Snowboard Club).
