FWSA Ski Clubs Continue
to Give From the Heart

Charities & Our Community Chair, FWSA
" The Far West Ski Association and its 10 ski councils are committed to supporting charitable giving and volunteerism. Through donations
and volunteer services of our individual members in clubs and councils, we hope to enhance the quality of life within our communities. "

The FWSA family is very proud to
have so many caring members being involved
with a huge variety of charitable organizations.
Every year, we recognize our
clubs and councils for their generous charity
support with the " Charity and Community
Service Recognition " . By openly
recognizing so many groups annually, we
hope to encourage others to become more
involved with charity activities and donations.
In
spite of the pandemic, our FWSA club
members continued to help others in their
communities. This year at our FWSA Convention
in San Diego, we had the opportunity
to again give special recognition and a
huge thank you to our clubs for their devotion
to charitable giving. At the October
convention, we showcased our clubs in a
video, covering their past two years of charitable
activities. Delegates, industry partners
and guests were quite impressed by the
amazing charity activities supported by our
FWSA clubs.
The video may be viewed on the
www.fwsa.org website.
Several of the FWSA ski clubs, who
enjoy giving back to their communities,
have shared information about their charitable
activities:

Mountain High & Snow Valley Ski Resorts in the local Southern California
mountains.
GET OFF YOUR ROCKERS
SKI CLUB
Members are very proud to be a part of
this group of active and very charitable
Rockers. As soon as possible during the pandemic,
we resumed our monthly Food Bank
support in person at the Food Bank Warehouse
with up to 20 volunteers happily
masked up and socially distanced. Over the
year, the club handled tens of thousands of
pounds of produce, packaging them for distribution
to those in need. They also helped in
an assembly line bagging for family dinner
grab bags.
Rockers members helped in food preparation
and service for Ronald McDonald House.
This year the group added the San Diego Rescue
Mission as a new monthly activity, fulfilling
a variety of needs. They also supported:
Promises2Kids, donating over $1,000 in gift
cards and money to help bring joy to foster
children; Empty Bowls, serving soup in hand
crafted bowls for this international grassroots
effort to fight hunger; and Wreaths Across
America, to honor those who served our
country. Rockers Helping Rockers is a caring
team of Rockers who reach out and contact
everyone in our Rocker community, and call
to find out our members' needs and lend a
hand.

Congratulations Rockers for doing so much
to help others; and for remembering even your
own members, who might be in need!

SNOWBUSTERS SKI CLUB
OF PASADENA
Members of this club enjoy giving back to
their community. Their favorite charitable activity
is the annual Learn to Ski/Snowboard
day at Mountain High & Snow Valley Ski
Resorts in the local Southern California
mountains. SnowBusters believe, that it is important
to expose their youth to alternative
outdoor activities.
Members described this exhausting but exhilarating
day: " The action-packed day started
with taking a bus load of excited youth/young
adults for a scenic drive from Pasadena to Running
Springs. On the donated bus, we transported
40 youth, ages 3 to 19 plus parents and other
chaperones. Everyone was fed a continental breakfast
as we rode to the ski areas, and once we arrived,
we had an impromptu stretch class and some
to-do/not to-do tips. Our team, strategically placed
at the resort, guided our youth/young adults from
the rental lines to the slopes. After getting fitted
with ski and snowboard gear, we all mingled and
enjoyed lunch outside on the patio, where it was a
warm 65 degrees and beautifully picturesque. The
