Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus,Tim and Pam Cavender, spread Christmas joy throughout North Georgia and beyond.

Ball Ground native Tim Cavender was 5 years old when he met Santa for the first time in 1963. The meeting was not what the youngster had envisioned. “I can still remember standing there looking at Santa and thinking, “What is the matter with him?” says Cavender, now 52. “He had on such a fake beard and these big red circles painted on his cheeks and the cheapest costume you could find. You can see in my picture with him that I looked very concerned.” Meeting the bum Santa was a big jolt for the little boy. As he grew
