But inland, there’s another sea of opportunity for places to see and things to do,” writes Jackie Kennedy, the author of this month’s story on where to go in Georgia for two- to five-day stays. Kennedy’s statement sums up this issue—travel in Georgia. She reviews some great places to sightsee, hike, view art, dine and more at the unique offerings of six Georgia destinations in “Explore summer in the South,” page 24. That’s not all! Spend some family time (and not a lot of money!) at many free attractions across North Georgia such as BabyLand General Hospital in Cleveland, or the Warm Springs Regional Fisheries Center. Getting on the road can be part of your sightseeing plan, and you don’t have to go far to “get away.” But plan a trip in a recreational vehicle (RV). Skip the hotels, take your pet if you want, and go when and where you like. If you love lake living, check out houseboating. Both options are moveable homes—what I call luxury camping!
