service. Tucked away beside a gas station, the restaurant may
be hard for first-timers to find, but for those who do, it usually
becomes a favorite food destination.
Dishes are made with fresh ingredients and traditional
spices.
" The locals say their burritos are delicious and known for
being enormous, " says Alexa Britton, executive director of the
Vidalia Convention & Visitors Bureau.

" We love what we do. And the busier we are, the happier
we are, " says Nancy Covarrubias, general manager of Tacos La
Villa, a family-owned restaurant with locations in Smyrna and
Kennesaw. " Our burritos are full of flavor, fresh and authentic.
We have a lot of different choices of meat-steak, chicken,
shredded beef. We have the tripe, the beef head and the
La Joya Mexican Restaurant owner Yadira Castro displays the
popular Spinach Burrito, which is offered as a weekly special at
various times throughout the year.

La Joya Mexican Restaurant in Dublin dishes up fresh,
homemade tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas and more. Each
order begins with house-made salsa and warm corn tortilla
chips. Meals are accompanied by homemade verde and roja
sauces created to complement each meal.
The menu offers several burrito choices, including the
Regular Burrito, a toasted flour tortilla filled with your choice of
meat (including grilled or shredded chicken, steak, deep-fried
or marinated pork, tongue and tripe), rice, beans and shredded
cheese and served with a side salad. For vegetable lovers, the
Veggie Burrito contains grilled broccoli, mushrooms, bell
peppers, onions, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole, rice, beans
and fresh salsa wrapped in a flour tortilla.
On the first Wednesday of the month, La Joya offers a
Mexican hamburger, which is topped with cheese, lettuce,
tomatoes, jalapeños, avocado, onions, mayonnaise, bacon
and pineapple and served with fries.
" La Joya is one of our absolute favorites, " says Miriam
Lewis, executive director at Visit Dublin GA in Dublin.

Restaurante El Mexicano in Lyons is a small restaurant with

beef tongue.
" Inside our burrito we put cilantro, onion, sour cream,
cheese, lettuce and rice. It's very filling [and] very delicious. "
Covarrubias speaks proudly of the numerous awards that
Tacos La Villa has won.
" We get really excited to receive these recognitions. We
don't even know we're in these competitions until we win, and
then we find out that our customers voted us in, " she says.
Covarrubias insists that using fresh ingredients is essential
to create an exceptional burrito.
" Everything is fresh, and we make it as you order it, " she
says. " We love our customers, and we try to treat them very well.
Whatever they want, we try to get it for them if we can. "
