in town as it bursts to life during Dahlonega's Old Fashioned
Christmas (Nov. 29-Jan. 5). Among the activities on the full
slate of events are the Festival of Trees in Hancock Park,
Christmas teas, visits with Santa on the square, holiday
productions presented by the Holly Theater, a Christmas

* More can't-miss events: The Lighting of the Square
(Nov. 29) kicks Christmas into high gear when Dahlonega's
Christmas tree-and the entire square-are set aglow with
twinkling lights; horse and carriage rides (select nights from
Nov. 29 to Dec. 31) take visitors through the illuminated historic
district; and the Christmas Parade brings Santa (Dec. 14).
* Insider holiday tip: To see the lights sans the crowds,
consider visiting on a weeknight. You may not see Santa or be
able to take part in additional weekend events, but you can
enjoy the ambience of the square with its decorated storefronts
and find plenty of settings for the perfect holiday photo.
Thomasville
Three words: magical, charming, Victorian. It's no wonder
that Thomasville looks like an old-fashioned Christmas card
come to life. The town historically hit its stride during the late
Victorian era, which is beautifully reflected in its pristine, period
architecture.

the Taste of Thomasville Victorian Sweet Treats Tours (select
