antigen receptor (CAR)-engineered hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (HSPCs), which
successfully engrafted in pigtail macaques infected with simian human immunodeficiency
virus (SHIV) and generated virus-targeting cytotoxic T cells that destroyed infected cells. Reporting in PLOS Pathogens, the researchers, from the
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and
the University of Washington, say that that the
