Course Description
In this hands-on course, you’ll learn to install and manage an Exchange Server 2010 network of servers, and you’ll explore the critical new features from a real-world perspective. You will learn to deploy Exchange Server 2010 servers in various roles, including Mailbox role and Client Access role, and you will learn to manage message transport. You will also learn to integrate Exchange Server 2010 into an existing Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2007 environment. This course incorporates materials from the Official Microsoft Learning Product 10135: Configuring, Managing, and Troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.
• Install and deploy Exchange Server 2010 • Configure the Client Access server role in Exchange Server 2010 • Configure message transport in Exchange Server 2010 • Configure the secure flow of messages between the Exchange Server organization and the Internet • Implement a high availability solution for mailbox servers and other server roles in Exchange Server • Plan and implement a disaster recovery solution for Exchange Server 2010 servers • Monitor and maintain the messaging system • Transition an Exchange Server 2003 or Exchange Server 2007 organization to Exchange Server 2010 • Configure the Unified Messaging server role and components • Implement high availability across multiple sites and implement Federated Sharing
Prerequisites
• Fundamental knowledge of network technologies, including DNS and firewall technologies, and of certificates and PKI • Experience with the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 operating systems, though experience with previous versions of Exchange Server is not required • Experience with Active Directory in Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008 • Experience managing backup and restore on Windows Servers • Experience using Windows management and monitoring tools such as Microsoft Management Console, Active Directory Users and Computers, Performance Monitor, Event Viewer, and IIS Administrator • Experience using Windows networking and troubleshooting tools such as Network Monitor, Telnet, and NSLookup • Basic experience with Windows Mobile
