This program describes in detail a subepithelial connective tissue
graft procedure in a step-by-step fashion. The absolute requirements to ensure optimum results are described, as well as, the
pitfalls that should be avoided. This unique presentation gives
attendees a basis from which predictable, successful results can
be obtained. Also it focuses on: the application of the subepithelial connective tissue graft for gingival recession; cosmetic considerations; preparation for restorative procedures; root abrasion;
root sensitivity; root caries; deficient implant ridge areas; and
deficient pontic ridge areas. This seminar assists the restorative
dentist by helping to eliminate many of the mucogingival problems the restorative dentist encounters.

NUTRITION AND ORAL HEALTH:
THE EFFECTS OF FOOD ON THE HEALTH OF THE MOUTH
In the past 25 years, a wealth of information has been generated
regarding the relationship between oral health and overall health.
Strong evidence has been presented that demonstrates oral
diseases can have an impact on diabetes, cardiovascular disease,
and other medical conditions. Many healthcare professionals are
focusing on modifying the nutrition of their patients as an important component of not only addressing existing systemic inflammation, but preventing the increase in inflammation often seen
in patients with systemic disease. More recently, attention has
been focused on the role nutrition plays in the development of
oral diseases. The consumption of dietary sugar and the relationship to caries development is well known. However, other effects
of poor nutrition habits can also influence the manifestation of
diseases with an inflammatory basis. This program provides the
attendee with a thorough understanding of the oral health and
nutrition relationship.
