2. Big ghosts/little ghosts Use a Kleenex and a cotton ball (or scrunchedup facial tissue ball) to make small ghosts. Tie string, thread or dental floss around the neck, and add facial features with a permanent marker. Larger ghosts can be made using a white sheet or a white vinyl tablecloth from the dollar store. Use a balloon for the head, and tie string or dental floss tightly around the neck. (Dental floss is perfect when you need a string that will not break.) Black eyes can be added using a permanent marker or black tape cut into ovals. Hang from the trees or drape over a doorway. 3. Halloween hedgehogs (porcupines) Sometimes the little ones are not able to participate in pumpkin carving; Halloween hedgehogs are a good alternative activity. Buy the small gourds/pumpkins, and stick round toothpicks into the pumpkins all over the body. Spray or brush paint over the pumpkins, and add googly eyes when dry. These can be made in many different colors to create a whole hedgehog family. 4. Screamer streamers Kids love to make ugly monster masks on a large scale. Start with paints and a sheet of Bristol board . Be sure to cut large eyes with black centers. Let the kids use their creativity to create a very scary creature. Then cut streamers from black or orange plastic garbage bags about 1 ½ inches or 3 centimeters wide. If you cut down the sides of the bag first along each fold and open the bag to full length, you can end up with very long streamers. Tape these streamers to the back of your monster or mask. Hang it outdoors where the wind will catch the streamers or in a doorway for a spooky passageway. Share this article with your friends.
