The Most Important Thing We Can Do
For Our Grandchildren...
...is much simpler than you might expect. Parents these days
know all about the dangers of "screen time" and the technology
overload that kids now face. It's hard being a parent today, but
there's something us grandparents can do to help. Our strategy is
to surround the grandkids with the best books for their age, read

to them every chance we get, and nurture their natural curiosity.
The research validates the obvious; that reading skills are
essential to academic and professional success, and the biggest
predictor of literacy is how much exposure kids have to books
when they are little!

We were recently introduced to Early Moments, an awesome resource that is new to us but has been in business for
over 45 years. They send the best classic children's books to
our grandkids each month, and they know just what's right for
every age.
Zero to two years old? Baby Einstein Playful Discoveries
program offers bold, bright board books and soft books for
your youngest grandbabies. For little Disney fans, the Wonderful
World of Reading classics are perfect. And for your little ones
prepping for pre-school, trust Elmo's Learning Adventure stories
and learning materials.
Early Moments recommends my all-time favorite, Dr. Seuss
and His Friends for all ages as well. These stories make the most
memorable read-alouds, and young readers can step into reading on their own for the first time with classic titles like Hop on
Pop, Green Eggs and Ham, and Cat in the Hat, all shipped directly
to their door, monthly.
Every year, Dr. Seuss's birthday is celebrated, alongside Read
Across America Day on March 2nd. There's no better time
to start your grandkids on a journey to future success, and
LOTS of read-aloud fun, with awesome Early Moments book
subscriptions.
