She calls me " Doodah "

s a " woman of a certain age " ....ok ok, I'm " between fifty and death "
as was Auntie Mame, I have no offspring, or relatives and thus I'm
never in contact with babies.
So, I decided a while ago to " adopt " some. I probably will be arrested
someday as I walk along NY streets admiring babies who are cute. (If
not, I smile and keep walking.)
Over the years, I've accumulated some adorable " God children " who
live in various places...but none nearby. Until...Nina.
The apartment next to me rents out to various tenants and a few years
ago, it was a family with two kids. Having put up a wall to block noise
from them, I did reach out to welcome and say I'm here if you need any
information about where to shop, dry cleaners etc.

Over the years, I've accumulated some

I didn't hear. But then a large trampoline appeared on their terrace,
next to my lovely garden and it was perilously close to my fence and
bedroom window and thus began the " oh no " phase of the neighborly
relationship.
