2020 CATALYST HANDBOOK INDUSTRY CATEGORIES PROCESS CATEGORIES COMPANY INDEX PETROCHEMICAL Dehydrogenation PST-100 Catalyst Application: The PST-100 Catalyst (Fig. 1) can be used in a moving-bed propane dehydrogenation process (PDH) as a full load or as makeup. Description: Spherical PST-100 Catalyst can be loaded in a moving-bed PDH unit. Operation conditions are, for example, 610°C-645°C and H2 /HC of 0.4-0.6. PST-100 gives good anti-attrition ability and good flowability, both of which are vital for the smooth running of PDH units. Its optimized formulation brings a low coke rate and a good balance between activity and selectivity. The good mechanical properties and high chlorine retention ability ensure a stable run for the unit. Advantages: The PST-100 Catalyst has good activity and selectivity, and low coke make. With PST-100, one commercial unit measured its highest propylene output and its longest operation cycle since startup. The low coking rate guarantees the stable running of the regenerator. Furthermore, the catalyst fines produced during unit operation significantly decrease due to the good mechanical properties of PST-100. The chlorine injection is also greatly reduced because of the catalyst's high chlorine retention ability. Fig. 1. The PST-100 Catalyst. Development: PST-100 was developed in 2016.
