2020 CATALYST HANDBOOK INDUSTRY CATEGORIES PROCESS CATEGORIES COMPANY INDEX REFINING FCC ECLIPSE (FT) Application: Fluid catalytic cracking of all feedstocks, including gas oils, resids, tight oils and blends. Description: ECLIPSE is a low-hydrogen-transfer catalyst. This catalyst offers a balanced combination of zeolite and matrix activity so as to maximize the olefinic content of the cracked naphtha (Fig. 1). ECLIPSE is used with a ZSM-5-based additive to improve propylene. ECLIPSE includes Albemarle's ADZT-50 zeolite technology, along with premium matrix components like ADM-20. Advantages: Highly olefinic gasoline for C3= generation, volume gain and bottoms conversion. Economics: ECLIPSE is a preferred catalyst when refinery economics intermittently favor high propylene vs. high gasoline and refiners prefer to principally utilize separate ZSM-5 additives for adjustment of light olefins. ECLIPSE (FT) catalyst details. Development: Compatible with all of Albemarle's additives that boost light olefins yield (e.g., DuraZOOM-HA). Available with RiFT (Resid Improved Fracture Technology) for enhanced bottoms cracking.
