AEM Electrolyzer EL 2.1
DESCRIPTION: Enapter's core product is the anion exchange membrane (AEM)
electrolyzer. The stack is the electrolyzer's heart and comprises multiple cells
connected in series in a bipolar design. Enapter's unique technology is the design
and operation of these cells, consisting of a membrane electrode assemble (MEA),
made from a polymeric AEM and specially designed low-cost electrodes. The anodic
half-cell is filled with dilute KOH (alkaline) electrolyte solution; the cathodic half-cell
has no liquid and produces hydrogen from water permeating the membrane from the
anodic half-cell. Oxygen evolves from the anodic side and is transported out from the
stack through the circulating electrolyte. AEM stacks or " cores " produce hydrogen
with high pressure and purity. Simultaneously, AEM technology uses widely available
and low-cost materials, which results in significantly lower-cost hydrogen. Enapter's
patented AEM electrolyzer is a standardized and flexible system to produce onsite
hydrogen. The modular design paired with advanced software integration allows setup
in minutes and remote control and management. The electrolyzers are stackable to
achieve the required hydrogen flowrate.

ECONOMICS: Enapter is massively scaling up its production capacity and is building
a semi-automized mass manufacturing facility, significantly reducing the costs of
