* Auxiliary control system [8] and support equipment room:
° Rectifier (AC/DC converter): The electricity supply required in the process,
which can also originate from renewable energy sources, is adapted before
powering the stack.
° General electrical system: To supply electricity to all the instrumentation
and equipment. It includes an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), which
will supply energy in case of an electrical failure.
° Control system: Fully automated PLC for monitoring and control of the
electrolyzer; to assure the entire process functions correctly.
° In case of modular multi-MW solutions, one single 40-ft container could
integrate two rectifiers, minimizing overall footprint.
ADVANTAGES/KEY FEATURES:
* MW scale stack, allowing multi-MW solutions, both containerized
and skid-mounted
* High current density providing compact design
* Supply pressure up to 40 bar, minimizing downstream compression needs
(reducing both CAPEX and OPEX)
* Good performance at partial load, with a broad load range (10%-100%),
perfectly suitable for renewable energy efficient integration
* Rapid system response and quick dynamics, with start-up time within seconds
* High gas purity, even further than 99.999% H2 if required by the final application
* Cooling self-sufficient (no cooling water is required), with the option of
heat recovery in case of use at site
* Redundancy on critical safety parameters, already incorporating its own UPS
* Provides an option for a water treatment system to allow for any kind of
supply water to be used
* Provides option for oxygen processing potential like that of hydrogen,
for its recovery and usage
* Provides option for extreme environmental conditions package
(low and high temperature)
* Plug-and-play solution, allowing a quick on-site installation,
both indoor and outdoor
* Fully automated and unattended, allowing a master-control integration
and remote monitoring connection
* Easy maintenance, with no hazardous substances involved.
Modular and containerized approach allows equipment to be fully tested and
incorporates all safety measures just out of the factory, avoiding complex
safety studies and long-lasting testing procedures at the final site.
