The record-setting DD-110RS maxi rig
provides ease of mobility, 1.1 million pounds
of maximum thrust/pullback power and
precision drilling. Its Wiggle Steer System will
rotate the drill pipe, and subsequently the
cutting head on the drill string, back and forth
over a predetermined range. This motion
causes the hold made by the cutting head to
be more open in a particular direction and, therefore, facilitates steering of the drilling pipe in that
