Hitachi introduced its next-generation wheeled excavator, the
ZX190W-6, with multiple upgrades that enhance efficiency, reliability
and durability.
Mobile and maneuverable, ZX190W-6 weighs in at 45,300 pounds
and sits on a short wheelbase that makes it easy to work in tight spaces.
It's powered by a certified Final Tier 4 (FT4)/EU Stage IV Isuzu engine
that does not need a diesel particulate filter (DPF). A HIOS IV hydraulic system contributes to fuel efficiency by delivering on-demand
performance and the right amount of pump flow when metering pilot
controls. Additionally, power and performance are balanced with three
work modes: Economy (ECO), Power (PWR) and High Productivity
(H/P).
The pavement-friendly ZX190W-6 reaches speeds up to 21.7 miles
per hour, and features a larger hood with springs, providing highly
efficient access to the engine for service. Maintenance is minimized
from at-a-glance gauges to grouped service points with easy access to
the washer tank, air cleaner, DEF tank and battery disconnect switch.
Convenient upper-structure handrails come standard to provide easy
engine access, and extended service intervals help maximize uptime.
The ZX190W-6 is protected by a heavy-duty undercarriage and
durable D-channel side frames. Added strength comes from welded
bulkheads within the boom that resist torsional stress, tungsten-carbide thermal-coated arm surfaces and oil-impregnated bushings.
Hitachi also introduced its most-powerful reduced-tail-swing excavator, ZX345USLC-6. Offering contractors increased reach, dig forces,

bucket capacity and lift capacity, the machine simultaneously makes it
possible to work in tight, confined spaces. And it's the only full-size cab
on a reduced tail swing machine in the industry.
The 30-metric-ton ZX345USLC-6 has an exclusive three-pump
hydraulic system that provides multifunction performance and the
fastest cycle times in the industry. It also comes with a standard auxiliary function lever (AFL) and control, designed for precise handling of all
attachments, including thumbs and grapples.
Equipped with a powerful Certified Final Tier 4 (FT4)/EU Stage IV
Isuzu 7.8-liter, 249-horsepower engine, the new excavator employs
cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), a diesel oxidation catalyst
(DOC) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR). Diesel exhaust fluid
(DEF) is injected into the exhaust stream of the engine, runs through a
catalyst, and turns the NOx in the exhaust into harmless water vapor
and nitrogen gas.
The EGR is specifically tuned to further reduce NOx (compared to
EPA Interim Tier 4 [IT4]/EU Stage IIIB engines) to meet new emission
standards with minimal use of DEF. Additionally, an improved piston
design allows particulate matter to be burned in cylinder, so there's no
need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF).
A heavy-duty undercarriage is designed for a 35-metric-ton machine, providing a low center of gravity, greater stability and increased
lift capacity. D-channel side frames house and protect the highly
efficient coolers and FT4 engine. The boom, arm and mainframe are
warranted for three years or 10,000 hours, whichever comes first.
