The Center for the Underground Infrastructure Research
& Education (CUIRE) will hold its 17th annual engineering
and inspecter training and certification schools Jan. 28-29,
2019, at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth,
Texas.
These schools are designed specifically for personnel in the
underground utilities construction and rehabilitation industry. Course
instruction will be provided by notable industry experts.
Register through Jan. 15 and pay $195 per attendee, per school
(After Jan. 15 - $295 per attendee, per school)

* Registration includes complimentary access to the main UCT program

Advanced Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) School (Part One).
Planning and design of large, mid- and small-size HDD projects from
inception to closeout and delivery. The school will include talks on pipe loads, bore
planning, drilling fluids and case studies.
* Geotechnical School (Part One). Geotechnical requirements for both trenchless and open-cut applications, soft soils and rock investigations methods, and
how ground conditions will impact trenchless feasibility and productivity.
* Pipe School (Part 1). This school will cover applications, capabilities, manufacturing, standards, advantages and limitations of each type of pipe, such as steel,
ductile iron, vitrified clay, PVC, HDPE, fiberglass, life cycle costing, etc., and new
developments in pipe materials and joining systems.

1:00 -5:00 p.m.
Advanced Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) School (Part Two). The second part
of this school will include construction projects of all sizes, plus tracking, locating
and case studies.
* Geotechnical School (Part Two). Planning, geotechnical reporting and contracting requirements for trenchless technologies in different ground conditions.
* Pipe School (Part Two). The second part of this school will cover applications,
capabilities, manufacturing, standards, advantages and limitations of PVC, HDPE,
fiberglass and new developments in these pipe materials and joining systems.

Pipe Lining and Renewal School. This school will cover pipe lining
methods including cured-in-place pipes, sliplining, modified sliplining
(panel lining), close-fit, spray-in-place pipe and other methods. This school will also
cover planning, design, construction, inspection and QA/QC.
* Microtunneling and Pilot Tube School. This school will cover planning, design and construction of Microtunneling Methods (MT) and Pilot Tube and Other
Guided Boring Methods (PTGBM), and will include case studies. A discussion of
new ASCE Microtunneling Standards and Manual of Practice on PTGBM will be
presented by authors.

Pipeline Assessment & Certification Program
Recertification Course
Maximum of 15 attendees
Cost: $300
Instructor: Rod Thornhill, PE, President, White Rock Consultants
The PACP Recertification Course will recertify your current PACP certification. The
class includes one day of training and the latest version of the manual.

Pipeline Assessment & Certification Program
Maximum 20 attendees
Cost: $800
Presented by the National Association of Sewer Service Companies
(NASSCO), this two-day comprehensive course will provide thorough
instruction on PACP coding procedures. Items covered include:
* Coding procedures
* Technical issues affecting rate of pipeline deterioration
* Implementation of the PACP sewer pipeline grading system
* Q & A session to clarify the program
Course instructor: TBD
In order to ensure the content of the PACP has been adequately conveyed to
the student, a certification examination will be given to complete the course.
Registration for the NASSCO PACP includes complimentary access to the UCT main
program.

PACP Trainer Course (Certification & Recertification)
Limited to 4 attendees
Cost: $750 (certification)*; $250 (recertification)*

NASSCO's PACP Trainer Course is designed for current PACP 7.0 trainers who need
to be recertified, and PACP users who have fulfilled the prerequisites to become
trainers. This session will ensure the candidate is able to correctly arrange for,
conduct and complete PACP classes, and is knowledgeable in all areas. Attendees
must own and bring a current version of the PACP 7.0 manual to class.
*Registration for this course is subject to NASSCO approval. Attendees must submit
a resume and a letter stating why he or she would like to be certified or recertified.
