Material-Handling Boom
Introduced for Excavators of All Sizes

RCE Equipment Solutions has
introduced a material handling
boom that economically converts
an excavator for handling pipe
and other job-site materials.
The new RCE Track Boom is
aan

ayer that is a fraction of the cost
of conventional pipe handling
equipment and provides the ultimate in application versatility.
The boom mounts directly to the
excavator and includes a Crane
Smart System.
"The boom is designed to fit
John Deere excavators ranging in
size from compact to large," said
Rocky Bare, RCE business development manager. "However, it
can be adapted for use on other
brands of equipment." He also
explained that installation can be
made in one day.
It's available from RCE Equipment Solutions and authorized
John Deere dealers who provide
service and support, along with
RCE support specialists and engineers.
Bare said the new boom is ideally suited for multiple applications that include:
* Pipeline construction for lay-

ing small- to medium-diameter
pipe, tie-ins to larger-diameter
pipes, and in fabrication yards
* Gas distribution work in urban
areas
* Electrical transmission construction in laydown yards and
tower assembly

Versatile
"The RCE Track Boom has
360-degree swing and provides
ideal performance for lift and
hold applications," said Bare. "The
operator can see suspended loads
from a head-on perspective, making operation safer for both the
operator and personnel working
on the ground.
"Custom boom lengths and
hook heights allow a good match
to various applications, and when
used on equipment with rubber
track pads, it can work in urban
areas."
The Crane Smart System provides the operator with accurate,
real-time, on-the-job load information to help keep people and
equipment safe.
Specific benefits include loading cell with live weighing, overload warning, anti-2 block warn-

ing when the lower hook block is
raised until it contacts any part
of the boom tip, and wireless
communication. An easy-to-use,
in-cab panel and an off-level sensor allow the operator to know
ground position during difficult
lifts.
"Currently, one other manufacture has a dedicated pipe layer
for excavators," Bare said. "Our
track boom is set apart by its diversity in size offerings and our
ability to modify for all makes
of equipment. We also provide
the option to purchase the track
boom separately from the carrier,
allowing buyers to utilize excavators already in its fleet."
