Jon Torpy has joined Epiroc, a
leading productivity partner for
the mining and infrastructure
industries, as general manager
and president for Epiroc USA
LLC. Based in Denver, he leads
the U.S. Customer Center of Epiroc, which
supplies innovative, safe and sustainable drill rigs,
rock excavation and construction equipment and
tools. He brings 20 years of overall industry
experience, with 15 years of broad leadership at
Epiroc and its predecessor Atlas Copco, most
recently as vice president of Marketing for the
Drilling Solutions division, in Garland, Texas.

Lockwood, Andrews
& Newnam Inc.
William Abbott, P.E., joined
Houston-based planning,
engineering and program
management firm Lockwood,
Andrews & Newnam Inc. (LAN),
as director of operations. In this
role, he focuses on leading improvements in
project delivery, risk management, quality of
design and technical processes. A civil engineer

Barbco
Thomas Schmidt joined Barbco Inc, East Canton,
Ohio, manufacturer of horizontal earth boring
machines, and was soon promoted to the newly
created position of operations manager, overseeing Quality Control, Safety, Compliance, Shipping/
Receiving, Maintenance, Janitorial, and Marketing
departments. A manufacturing veteran with many
years of leadership accomplishments in numerous
local plants, Schmidt is also a dedicated, and
awarded, community volunteer.

Gregg Hayes joined Thompson, Conn.,
drilling technology provider Numa as product
manager. Based in New York, he leads business
development, service and support of Numa's
horizontal directional drilling (HDD) products,
especially direct and dealer sales of horizontal
hammers, bits and drilling systems. A recognized
HDD expert, he has 20 years of experience in the
drilling industry, including sales and management
roles for companies selling tooling, drilling fluids,
bits, reamers, rock tools, swivels, etc.

Scott Shipe joined Cretex
Specialty Products, the leading

products. As regional manager, he oversees the
