Madewell
Don Rigby joined Madewell
Products Corporation's
leadership team in a newly
created position responsible for
driving education and
engagement within new and
existing contracting partners, engineers and owners.
A veteran of the underground trenchless
industry and formerly vice president of Marketing
and Education at Avanti International, Rigby has
"proven capabilities to strategically align marketing
and sales and enable contracting partners
to execute services that solve infrastructure
problems," said Jon Steele, president of Madewell.
Rigby will also continue to actively participate
in the evolution of operating and performance
standards through involvement in industry-related
organizations, such as NASSCO, NASTT and WEF.
Madewell, headquartered in Alpharetta, Ga.,
serves municipal and industrial owners, specifying
engineers, and utility contractor communities
with proprietary products, methodologies and
conveyance equipment for the restoration and
preservation of underground structures.
McMillen Jacobs
Thomas O'Dwyer, P.E., joined
McMillen Jacobs as a principal
and leader of its Tunnel
Ventilation/Fire Life Safety
practice, overseeing design and
analysis of rehabilitation/
upgrade and construction projects. His 27 years of
experience includes several major vehicular,
transit and rail tunnels, and has made him an
industry expert in the advancement and
improvement of the SES computer program, and
other tools used in tunnel ventilation analysis.
McMillen Jacobs Associates is an employeeowned environmental, engineering, and
construction company providing a comprehensive
array of technical services to the heavy civil,
underground, and water resources markets.
Vermeer MV Solutions
Jason Dewitt is the new West
Coast regional sales manager
for Vermeer MV Solutions. Based
in Exeter, Calif., he manages
sales activities within his region
and provides quality support to
the dealers in those territories by determining their
sales and marketing needs. Previously, he held
various equipment sales roles - including
positions with Vermeer Pacific and Vermeer
Rocky Mountain - where he demonstrated
abilities to build strong relationships and provide
quality customer service.
John Place joined the company
as engineering manager based
in Greenville, S.C. In his new
role, he manages and assists
the engineering team
throughout the development
of new products and supports the company's
Okahumpka, Fla., location. For the past 21-plus
years, he has served as a product engineering
expert with a proven track record in leading,
managing, monitoring and executing improved
manufacturing methodology, while engaging,
coaching and leveraging cross-functional teams
to deliver value.

David Scott was promoted to
the position of senior vice
president of Specialty
Operations, at United Rentals.
Based in Atlanta, he leads the
division's Trench, Power, HVAC,
Fluid Solutions, Tools, and Reliable Onsite Services
businesses, to expand its 340-location footprint
and further drive its customer-focused strategy.
He brings more than 28 years of broad industry
experience in general rentals, pumps, power and
HVAC, including the past nine years with United
Rentals as operations manager, and then vice
president, of the PHVAC Region.
With more than 92 trench safety locations
and the largest fleet of shoring and underground
excavation rental equipment in North America,
United Rentals provides customized, costeffective rental solutions for customers' specific
excavation needs. These services help companies
in pre-bid analysis on protective systems, onsite
consultation and engineering designs that can be
applied successfully on a project. *
Ellingson Acquires Directed
Technologies Drilling
Ellingson, a nationwide specialty trenchless
construction contractor, acquired Directed
Technologies Drilling, (DTD) a pioneer in the
use of horizontal directional drilling (HDD)
methods to mitigate soil and groundwater contamination and develop clean water supplies.
Since 1996, DTD has focused on the
environmental applications of horizontal directional drilling. The company has perfected
the specialized techniques needed to install
and develop wells for subsurface remediation
and water resources development. DTD leads
the industry in installed footage of completed,
operational wells and is committed to continual innovation and improvement of design
and installation techniques.
This creates both environmentally and
economically sustainable solutions for customers. In addition, HDD wells can be utilized
as groundwater production wells, developing
shallow or thin aquifers for irrigation, potable
and industrial uses.
