BUSINESS EVENT TURNS 25!
Recognized as the industry's most comprehensive business event
for the underground utility infrastructure industry, the 25th
Underground Construction Technology & Exhibition (UCT)
opens its doors for the pre-conference program on Monday,
Jan. 27, 2020 and the main program, Tuesday, Jan. 28-Thursday,
Jan. 30. Returning to the city of cowboys and culture, UCT will
mark its silver anniversary at the Fort Worth Convention Center
in Fort Worth, TX.
As the first major industry event of the year, UCT has built a
devoted following by uniquely encompassing all underground
construction and rehabilitation disciplines - both trenchless
and traditional open-cut methods. It is the only annual industry
event that brings together contractors, utility providers,
consulting engineers, manufacturers and service providers into
a business and educational environment for both trenchless and
open-cut markets.
UCT's business building program consists of three-days of
learning and making important connections. This first look at
UCT 2020 is meant to pique your interest and share a few details
of what you can look forward to. The committees are diligently
working to finalize the educational program, and registration is
scheduled to open in a few weeks.
New for UCT 2020 is the creation of the HDD Reunion.
Spearheaded by Underground Construction's Editor-in Chief,
Robert Carpenter, and our partners Jay Miller, president of
J.T. Miller LLC and Grady Bell, president of Bell Trenchless
Consulting, this exciting event will look back at the horizontal
directional drilling (HDD) market from the boom in the 1990s
through today, during an evening of networking, awards and fun.
We're also establishing an HDD Hall of Fame; more details
about this are forthcoming. Earlier in the day, there will be a

focused education track on HDD, where attendees will learn about
the latest trends and technologies to maximize efficiency and
profitability. The HDD educational track is included with your UCT
registration, however, there is a nominal fee for the evening event.

A returning favorite to UCT is the RehabZone™, an interactive
learning experience within the exhibit hall. The self-paced,
walk-through exhibit focuses on trenchless rehabilitation,
including innovative technologies and installation techniques.
There are also live demonstrations and opportunities for
attendees to test their skills in a cutter challenge. This year, we
anticipate adding new technologies, such as UV cured-in-place
lateral repair, fiber optic heat monitoring, and CCTV software.
Whether it be pipe rehabilitation or new construction
technologies, our core mission remains the same: be the business

and a fun place to network.
