Compact, durable and very easy-touse, the G450 Gas Detector from
GoodforGas Instrumentation offers
exceptional performance for an
extremely affordable price.
G450 sensors are warranted for
a full three years, ensuring that the
device has the lowest cost-of-ownership of any confined space gas detector on the market today. Replacement
sensors carry the same, three-year
warranty as the original sensors.
An optional motorized pump operates in diffusion and sample-draw
modes and can be easily attached or
removed from the instrument when
sampling needs to be changed. The
H2S sensor offers 0.1 ppm resolution to comply with the latest TLV
requirements.

New Cat D3 Series SSLs, CTLs Advance Reputation, Deliver Improvements
Caterpillar released 16 new D3 Series skid steer loader (SSL) and
compact track loader (CTL) models that advance the D and D2
Series' reputation for quality, comfort and performance, and deliver improvements in operator experience, stability and technology.
For operators, entering and exiting the new D3 Series loaders
equipped with an enclosed cab is now easier thanks to a wider
opening cab door. Additionally, the distance between joystick
pods has increased by 3 in (76 mm), offering extra space for a
more comfortable experience.
Cat SSLs and CTLs offer advanced control features that include Return-to-Dig and Work Tool Positioner to assist
operators with repetitive tasks like grading, digging and loading. These items are now bundled together with the
dual-direction, self-level feature so that even more operators can take advantage of completing these tasks with
less user interaction and expertise.
An industry first, the D3 Series models support new Smart Attachments technology that automatically recognizes this line of attachments and converts machine controls to align with the operational and informational
needs of a particular attachment.
New D3 Series CTLs deliver improved operating stability while handling heavy loads, grading or truck
loading. Changes to the undercarriage frame and torsion axles reduce machine pitching and rocking, while still
offering superior ride comfort.
The CTLs feature standard, two-speed travel to improve performance at the job site. These machines are
geared to deliver high-torque digging performance, as well as high top-end speed for travel. The powerful
Cat 279D3 and 289D3 loaders boast an 8.4-mile-per-hour (13.6 kph) top-end ground speed - a 20 percent
increase over their D Series counterparts.
Cat 239D3 and 249D3 models are now built with two-speed transmission as standard, versus the previous
single speed, increasing travel speed by 9 percent and aligning these models with the rest of the two-speed
equipped CTL model range.
In conjunction with the new D3 Series, the "XHP" identifier previously used with the 272 and 299 models was
replaced with "XE," representing the highest performance and most-advanced technology available in the Cat
SSL and CTL line.
To provide longer intervals of uninterrupted work, 299D3 XE Land Management CTL has a 58.1-gallon (220 L)
fuel capacity - 80 percent larger than the standard 299D3 XE model and providing an estimated run time of 11
to 12 hours. Its one-piece sealed and pressurized cab keeps the operator's environment clean and quiet, which
is especially important for customers working the long shifts in the challenging conditions of these applications.
Additional seals, covers and other special parts are standard for 299D3 XE Land Management, to restrict
debris and other materials from entering the engine compartment and lower frame, while large removable
panels provide easy access to aid in routine cleaning. A turbine-type pre-cleaner ejects dust, dirt and debris
from engine-intake airflow before it reaches the filter, thus extending air-filter service life. *

Advanced Drainage Systems Inc.
(ADS), the Hilliard, Ohio-based, global
manufacturer of water management
products, solutions and technologies for infrastructure, released its
enhanced Design Tool 2.0. The new
application enables customers to
incorporate site-specific information,
quickly create StormTech system
layouts in CAD and PDF formats and
edit and save these designs for review
and modification.
"The result is a custom-tailored
stormwater management system that
can be immediately utilized in project
documents," said Greg Spires, P.E.,
general manager, StormTech, at ADS.
Design Tool 2.0 allows customers to evaluate the feasibility of
alternative underground products,
above-ground pond replacement,
land values and usage, regulatory
compliance, rainwater harvesting,
stormwater quality, green infrastructure applications and more.
Other options include adding
and specifying a variety of ADS
products to the StormTech design,
such as N-12 and HP pipe products,
as well as Nyloplast basins and
Inserta-Tee lateral connections.
StormTech chambers are utilized
in a variety of construction project
types to provide underground storage
of stormwater in an efficient footprint.
The chambers are designed in
accordance with AASHTO and ASTM
standards and meet AASHTO LRFD
Bridge Design Specifications
for a 75-year service life. *
