its network by adding three more dealers as
authorized sales, service, parts and rental providers
of Doosan equipment:
* Ellens Equipment, McBain, Mich., serves all
agriculture, construction and logging industries,
as well as government agencies, in the Northern
Lower peninsula of Michigan.
* Kleis Equipment serves customers in upstate
New York's Oswego, Cayuga, Oneida,

As part of the campaign, the company created
an immersive website experience that explores
new ways to improve performance, such as fleet
utilization, specialty solutions, tech innovations
and worksite management. It also features more
than 50 of the largest, real-world infrastructure
projects in the US and Canada, and what it will take
to complete them.

(GDS), a company with 10 years of experience
collecting, processing and performing quality
control of hydrographic lidar, topographic lidar,

survey data. The acquisition combines GDS'
high-quality services, and offices near Portland,
Ore., and Calgary and Alberta, Canada, with
Woolpert's industry-leading aerial and
terrestrial lidar capabilities.

radar (GPR) equipment, established a distribution
partnership with Blinken Tools AB. Headquartered
in Karlstad, Sweden, Blinken delivers rotary lasers,
piping and cross/line lasers, GNSS equipment, UAV
drones and other equipment to the construction,
industrial and government sectors.

PPI Introduces New Technical Director
Patrick Vibien, P.Eng., was appointed to leadership roles overseeing three
areas of The Plastics Pipe Institute Inc. (PPI). As technical director he guides
the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to ISO TC 138, and serves as the
liaison with industry organizations and spokesperson on technical matters.
He takes over as technical director from Sarah Patterson, who now focuses
all her attention as chairman of PPI's Hydrostatic Stress Board (PPI HSB).
He is also director of engineering for the Power and Communications
Division (PCD), which focuses on the use of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) conduit in power,
telecommunications, CATV, SCDA, FTTH, ITS, underground and other applications. Along with
managing division projects, consultants and staff, he is its spokesperson with various industry
organizations, standard and code bodies, and other forums.
As director of Education, he oversees and supports efforts of the PPI Education Committee
to develop platforms that increase awareness of plastic pipe and its applications and promote
proper engineering design and installation.
Vibien assumes the PCD and education responsibilities from Lance MacNevin, P.Eng., who
continues as director of engineering for PPI's Building and Construction Division (BCD).

BCD and PCD divisions," said Peter Zut of KraussMaffei, chairman of the PPI board of directors.

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam Inc. (LAN) received
two Project of the Year awards from the American
Public Works Association-Texas chapter.
One project, Houston Emergency Water Supply
Shutdown, was recognized under the "Disaster
or Emergency Construction/Repair" category. It
involved working with the City of Houston and
Coastal Water Authority (CWA) to perform an emergency leak repair on a CWA, 102-inch, prestressed
concrete cylinder pipe, "C-line," that feeds almost
two-thirds of Houston's total water demand.
The other project, Rehabilitation of AboveGrade Crossings, also with the City of Houston,
won under the "Structures" category. As part of
Houston's Surface Water Transmission Program,
LAN conducted a field assessment and provided
recommendations for the rehabilitation of 21 largediameter (24 to 60 inches) crossings, overcoming
challenges such as the age of the crossings (the
oldest was 60-plus years old), accessibility, surface
preparation, and the presence of lead.
