Proposed Louisiana Law Would
Grade Community Water Systems
Louisiana would set up a statewide grading system for its community water systems under a bill
now progressing through its legislature. Any system that receives a D or F grade could be subject to
corrective measure, including takeover.

Tunnel Boring Machine " MudHoney "
Gets to Work in Seattle
The Tunnel Boring Machine " MudHoney " was lowered into the
ground in Seattle to start work on a $570 million water project.
A tunnel will capture and temporarily hold more than 29.6
million gallons of stormwater and sewage during heavy rains.

which is trying to halt construction by blocking access to
parcels of state land needed for the pipeline.
Flint Business Owner Convicted
of Dumping Liquid Waste
A business owner in Flint, Mich., has been sentenced to a year
in prison for illegally dumping nearly 48 million gallons of
liquid landfill waste into the city's sewers over several years.
