Tesmec USA, Inc. was founded in 1984 in Grand Prairie, Texas, by its parent
company, Tesmec S.p.A., in response to the market of machinery required for
excavation in rock, primarily for fi ber optic work.
The fi rst Tesmec USA trencher model was the TRS1000 Rocksaw; this equipment
represented a revolution in the trencher world and some of the basic concepts
are still applied today in the design of new models. The TRS1000 was a huge
success and a major player in the early, cross-country fi ber optic and telecom
boom of the 90's and can still be seen working across the United states today.
After the early success of the TRS1000, Tesmec USA's continuous expansion
of engineering and production led to the development of a wide range
of machines, machine capabilities and various digging attachment features.
The manufacturing and production of machines like the 900EXT and 1075
chainsaws, as well as the 1175 bucket wheel allowed Tesmec USA to break into
the utility and oil & gas industries.
In the mid 90's the company expanded to a 23-acre facility in Alvarado, Texas
which still today hosts the sales, service, engineering, and other professional
offi ces as well as the fabrication, production, and assembly warehouses.
In the early 2000's Tesmec USA introduced what is still it's most popular line
of trenching equipment, the " M-Series " fl eet. The " M-Series " was the fi rst line of
equipment built by the company that featured a mechanically driven digging
mechanism. The M Series design allowed for slower chain speeds, resulting in
higher productivity in the hardest ground conditions. The Tesmec " M-Series " is
still employed throughout utility, renewable and oil and gas markets today.
In 2003 Tesmec USA designed and produced its fi rst surface miner, the
" RockHawg " - designed for use in open-pit quarries and bulk excavation projects;
these days the RockHawg is also utilized in several underground mining
operations across the world.
In 2015 Tesmec USA broke into the railway industry, designing catenary
maintenance vehicles. These vehicles act as " workshops-on-wheels " , making
rail jobsites safer and more effi cient.
In 2019, Tesmec USA released its newest product line of narrow trenching
equipment, most notable of this fl eet is the " Clean&Fast Solution " . The " CleanFast "
is ideal for utility and fi ber optic installation; the machine simultaneously trenches,
and suctions excavated material. The high productivity of the CleanFast has made
it a go-to for many contractors competing in the current broadband boom.
At Tesmec USA, it's about the people. Each employee is integral to the
success of Tesmec USA and to the innovation of high-performance and quality
equipment produced over 37 years; because of the initiative and grit of those
who pride themselves on fi nding solutions, Tesmec USA is still moving forward.
Today, Tesmec USA machines are used in a variety of industries that include
telecom, fi ber optic, utility, oil and gas, mining, rail, and agriculture.
While Tesmec USA is not your traditional, trenchless/underground equipment
manufacturer, the company is thankful to be a part of the Underground
Construction community.
