Lisa Unger and Delia Owens have been
added to the lineup for United for Libraries'
Gala Author Toast, sponsored by ReferenceUSA, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Monday,
June 25 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside,

Unger is a New York Times and internationally bestselling, award-winning author of
15 novels, including Under My Skin. Her books
have been named "Best of the Year" or top picks
by The Today Show, Good Morning America,
Entertainment Weekly, and Amazon.
Owens is the co-author of three internationally bestselling nonfiction books about her
life as a wildlife scientist in Africa - Cry of the

Orlean's forthcoming The Library Book
tells the story of the 1986 Central Library
fire in Los Angeles, an event she uses as a lens
through which to tell the story of all libraries - their history, their meaning, and their
future as they adapt and redefine themselves in
a digital world - in a book that is ultimately a
love letter to libraries and their central role in
society. Orlean has been a staff writer at The
New Yorker since 1992.

Reid is the author of Daisy Jones and the
Six, One True Loves, Maybe in Another Life,
After I Do, Forever, Interrupted, and The Seven
Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.
Berney is the author of November Road,
Gutshot Straight, Whiplash River, and multiple
prize-winning The Long and Faraway Gone.
His short fiction has appeared in publications
such as The New Yorker, Ploughshares, and the
Pushcart Prize anthology.
Enger worked as a reporter and producer
for Minnesota Public Radio for nearly twenty
years before writing his bestselling debut novel
Peace Like a River, which won the Indepen-

dent Publisher Book Award and was one of
the Los Angeles Times and Time Magazine
Best Books of the Year. His second novel,
So Brave, Young, and Handsome, was also a

has worked as an editorial and product
development consultant for publishers and
booksellers and is currently vice president for

In this year's ALA elections, the Video Round Table (VRT) voted to change its
name to the Film & Media Round Table (FMRT) to better capture the full range
of its members' interests. The margin of the vote was 64 - 15, or 81 percent for and
19 percent against. This change is effective as of September 2018. Please stay tuned
