and day Disparate eras meld in Midtown Manhattan By JOANN GRECO Photography by MICHEL ARNAUD For the design of the Wayfarer, a two-story, 130-seat restaurant 1 on Manhattan's bustling 57th Street, Meyer Davis Studio combined two unlikely looks: an Edwardian gentlemen's club meets '70s disco aesthetic. "The overall concept was as if a beautifully paneled club had been frozen in time around the turn of the last century," says firm principal Gray Davis. "Then, someone came along and re-energized it with vintage touches from the latter part of the 20th century." 2 1.
