It's been a busy couple of months for us here at HD-from our largest issue of

the year (May) to HD Expo (also in May) and the HD Awards and its corresponding
issue (in June) and HD NextGen Forum (also in June). So come July, we look
forward to finally catching our breath (albeit briefly) and turning our focus to our
annual Products issue, where we showcase pages of beautiful goods, and the people,
companies, and inspiration behind them. We are always amazed at the innovation
that comes across our desks and the intricate processes that go into creating these
products (from both the manufacturer and designer side), so this issue turns out to
be a celebration of the collaboration that defines our industry. To give you a sense of
what's in these pages, I've turned to our associate
and products editor Alissa Ponchione, who has
worked tirelessly to make this issue a reality.
"We barely scratch the surface of all the
product offerings in our 10 issues per year, which
is saying something because we do get to show
off a lot of wares each month. That's why our
Products issue-easily one of my favorites-is our
chance to do an even deeper dive into those items
that transform a space from merely four walls into
an unforgettable experience.
"After successfully integrating our first
products competition into the annual HD Awards
this year, we were motivated to highlight the ways
we've seen product design evolving. This year's
issue checks that box and more: young designers who are changing the landscape;
seasoned makers continuing their legacies; innovations in 3D technology; custom
work that creates distinct properties; and so much more. We traveled the globe from
Australia to Spain and back again to make sure you are truly inspired."
We hope that's the feeling you get every time you pick up our magazine, visit our
website, or attend one of our events, and we welcome your feedback as we strive to
make sure that is indeed the case. We have many exciting things in the pipeline and
can't wait to share them later this year. Until then, I hope you get to take what I am
sure is a much-needed vacation, and that, of course, you enjoy this issue.
