perspectives sketchbook copper head bar Photos by ANDREY AVDEENKO Design firm: YOD Design Lab, Ukraine The details: In the design for Copper Head bar in the downtown of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukrainian design firm YOD Design Lab shows what's possible when your client has a deep respect for beer and is brave enough to create something unique. Throughout the historic 19th-century building, principals Dmytro Bonesko and Volodymyr Neppyivoda fittingly honored the production of beer every step of the way. Copper pipes pass through the bar, extending along the walls, becoming the light. An installation of ceramic balls that wraps the walls and ceiling of one seating nook "symbolizes a beer's foam head," explains Bonesko; a metallic wall panel is perforated with pictures of hops; and an array of lamps are inspired by beer glasses. "Copper is the main material not only in the interior, but in the [brand] identity too," courtesy of Pravda studio, says Neppyivoda. 102 May 2017 hospitalitydesign.comhttp://www.hospitalitydesign.com
