How do you see your company growing
in the next ﬁve years?
Put simply, as we grow Spike Lighting, we
will remain laser-focused on our solutionbased approach to custom lighting. Our
unshakable tenacity and fierce confidence are
the cornerstones of Spike's superiority in the
high end hospitality custom lighting industry.
We exist to serve our clients, and we will stop
at nothing to deliver precisely what they desire.
Our relentless commitment to the hospitality
professionals we serve is what empowers Spike
to confidently exceed their expectations on a
consistent basis. We are dead set on excellence.

How has technology played a role
in product development? How has
technology changed the way you develop
products?
Technology has always played a key role in our
product development. After the initial hand
sketches of each light fixture, we fully render and
engineer each design in Auto-CAD. Because we
are a custom lighting company, this technology
has proven essential in quickly customizing
design changes and adapting the functionality
of our light fixtures. Technology is also key in
our ability to facilitate both internal and client
communications, and the multitude of apps
and project management systems at play today
streamline this process. It allows us to respond
proactively and quickly to our clients' needs.

What current trends are you keeping your
eye on?
As a custom lighting company for the hospitality
market, we enjoy the freedom and fresh aesthetic
we encounter with each new project. We don't
necessarily have to reply on trends in the same
way in which a retail line may rely on forecasting
to remain consumer competitive. We are
however always looking to source unique and
new materials for our clients, and fabricating
ways to showcase them best. From the vast
range of raw crystals we recently sourced in
South America for a 12 foot lobby installation, to
the colorful vintage newspapers we unearthed
at a local flea market to plaster the shades of

floor lamps, we pride ourselves on locating these
distinctive custom materials and knowing exactly
how to engineer them for functionality.

What is your company's philosophy?
Notorious within our market, we strive to be
the leading lighting experts in the high end
hospitality industry. Our provocative, solutionbased approach is an exciting differentiator in
a standardized market of outdated elegance.
Instead, Spike ignites excitement, putting an
exhilarating twist on the remarkable spaces
we illuminate with custom pieces and fixtures.
Relentless in our pursuit of perfection, our
portfolio reflects our expertise in refining
the atmospheres of both the public and guest
room spaces we transform. Our full service
extends far beyond designing the custom pieces
that will bring our clients' visions to life; We
proactively anticipate and meet the needs of our
clients throughout the production, delivery, and
installation of each of our pieces, regardless of
size or complexity.

What do you look for in a good
partnership?
Our business relies on partnerships in order to
succeed, between our engineers and the artisans
who bring their drawings to life, between the
hotel owners' and the designers they enlist
to create functional, beautiful, and profitable
spaces, between a hotel's purchasing company
and the vendors they select to facilitate their
project goals, and the list goes on. None of these
partnerships can thrive without consistent and
open channels of communication. The projects
we develop and fabricate are successful when
all of these partnerships are able to effectively
communicate through the many phases of
buying, designing, fabricating, and installing
a project.
