finalist lounge, nightclub + bar Castell New York Photos courtesy of AC HOTELS "Castell was envisioned as a warm and sexy rooftop living room lounge with strong geometric influences inspired by the vaults and shapes of Catalonian architecture," says Dan Mazzarini, principal of New York firm BHDM Design. Set atop the AC Hotel New York Times Square, retractable floor-to-ceiling windows open up to the Manhattan skyline, while walnut walls and floors combined with moody lighting set the backdrop for a 9-foot-wide fireplace and commissioned Miroinformed art.
