finalist open Paradise Theatre Nostalgia for the golden days of moviegoing comes alive at the Paradise Theatre, a transformed palace originally built in 1937. The rebirth of the landmark is courtesy of locally based practices Solid Design Creative and ERA Architects, which swathed the space in details that celebrate the bygone era. For instance, antique brass and mirrored ceilings transport guests to the past, while an island bar accented with brass tubing anchors the lobby. Two more bars add a sense of drama to the space: a cocktail bar on the second floor complete with marquee lights spanning its length draws inspiration from Art Deco-style patterns, and the VIP mezzanine boasts its own private bar and a pair of catwalks that flaunt plush, custom leather sofas and built-in side tables.
