spine, leaving her with disabilities and has required her to undergo multiple surgeries on her back and neck.
Dental health was another concern, as Jessica was missing several teeth and those that remained were broken and
infected. No longer able to work, she struggles to get by, relying on food stamps and a Social Security Disability
health seemed beyond reach.
This changed when a team of three Dental Lifeline Network's Donated Dental Services (DDS) volunteers came to
her aid. An oral surgeon extracted 15 teeth, and Dr. Alina Cretu, a general dentist, restored several others. With the
help of a volunteer lab, Dr. Cretu also donated a full upper denture and partial lower denture.
Thanks to these caring volunteers, Jessica was able to receive thousands of dollars in life-changing treatment.
She was able to proceed with a previously postponed back surgery due to the restoration of her dental health.
Currently, there are more than 6,300 people on the national waitlist. With support from more volunteer
dentists, laboratories, and funding, we can provide life-changing care to even more people in need.
