Salzburg, Austria this past May. This article is compiled
from reports by three students whom USITT sponsored
at the seminar.

R-DAT is a new format for Digital Audio Tape that
utilizes a spinning rotary head to record information.
The author, who is the USITT Sound Commissioner,
discusses the positive and, primarily, negative aspects of
this tape for theatre use.

design. Costume designer Carrie Robbins has been
working since the late 1960s and is identified with a
highly detailed and textured approach to costume. Her
designs have been seen on Broadway, many regional
theatres, several operas, and television's Saturday ight
Live.

These two new USITT standards cover digital protocol
and analog multiplex protocol for data transmissions
between controllers and dimmers. They were developed
to facilitate the interfacing of dimmers and controllers
made by different manufacturers.

positifs et, surtout, negatifs de ces bandes magnetiques
pour ceux qui les emploient dans Ie theatre.
